The staple of DJ equipment is the turn table. but what is the turn table well thee turn table is a device where you simply put two record on and play the song hut DJs used this to play the song and rewind the song to make some pretty cool effects in the song. The turn table in whole has been around for a while. It only dates back around 7 decades. However, its technological roots go back over 160 years, with the phonautograph. the DJ system has come a very long way since its beginning. just like everything now a days its mostly controlled and ran through a computer program. now unlike the old school systems where you have certain devices for certain things now you can do just about anything with the computer for example watch this video to see some of the possibilities. as you can see with the computer you can make just about anything now a days this gives DJs so much more possibility to create and remix music. now some DJs like a mix of the two between new and old that's why you see a lot now of the turntables but they don't have any records like they use to but they give the DJ the same effects as if there were.

  1. I am so glad I watched that video! I loved it! I was a little skeptical that he was going to produce a good sound from the mug. It was impressive how fast he did. I am just not up to speed with this innovation and I enjoyed learning about it. I think I will search for music on the traditional turn table and compare it with the computer generated sound/music of today. Do you have any favorite songs that use the traditional mixer?
